The Durham Lords women’s soccer club nabbed its first victory of preseason action with a 3-0 shutout of the Sheridan Bruins on Aug. 27.
The Lords’ record now stands at 1-1.
Emily Coons, Melissa Brace, and Shae-Lynn Young were the goal scorers for Durham, showing off a well-balanced offensive attack while the defence limited Sheridan’s scoring opportunities.
The Lords will continue to focus on training for the upcoming season on the practice field. Their next game action is set for Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m against UOIT in the annual Campus Cup.
Durham will open up OCAA conference action on Sept. 9 against the Algonquin Thunder in Ottawa. The Lords’ home opener will be on Sept. 13 versus the Loyalist Lancers.
