Passed peacefully surrounded by family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, May 11, 2018, in her 96th year. Faithful wife of the late Donald Charles (Don) Curtis (1998); beloved daughter and eldest child of Robert and Laura (Leyes) Brick, Hamilton; devoted mother of Roberta (David Cesar), Williamsville, N.Y., Mary Margaret (Norman Irving), Halton Hills, and Paul (Dian Wang), Oshawa; adored grandmother of Katie (Andrew Amrhein), Kerry (Jeffrey Byrnes), Meghan and Dr. Brittany Cesar, Sean and Quin. Irving, and Bridget Curtis; cherished great-grandmother to Lucy, Freddie, Clara and Dorothy Amrhein, Therese, Rose, Jude, Augustus, Zelie and sister Margaret; predeceased by her brother Jack.
Marie belonged to numerous bridge clubs, and was an accomplished classically-trained pianist. She also enjoyed reading, travel, swimming, tennis, knitting, solving challenging crossword puzzles, and attending plays/productions/musicals and symphony orchestra concerts.
