Couple facing numerous charges following break-ins across Durham

A 43-year-old male and 43-year-old female face numerous charges after a robbery, two break-ins and other incidents in Durham Region.

Most recently, on Monday, June 26, 2017, at approximately 7 p.m., an 84-year-old male reported to police that he was robbed of his wallet while at his Oshawa apartment by a male and female suspect. The suspects fled on foot and the victim received minor injuries.

It is believed these same suspects are responsible for two break-ins, one on Cordova Road in Oshawa and another on Holt Road in Bowmanville that occurred on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. The suspects also committed a theft on June 28 and face transportation fraud as they used a taxi as their getaway.

A 43-year-old male of no fixed address, is charged with two counts of transportation fraud; three counts of failing to comply with a recognizance; two counts of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offence; two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; fraud under $5,000; two counts of robbery and theft under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing.
