Convicted felon breaks parole

Provincial police are calling on the public’s help for finding a convicted man who has breached his parole.

According to the OPP’s Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, John Scharfe, 52, was serving a two-year sentence for break and enter and theft under $5,000, but is now wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Scharfe is described as a white male, is five feet and five inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. According to police, he has a tattoo of a grim reaper on his right arm and a tattoo of a flower on the left side of his chest.

Police say Scharfe is known to frequent the Greater Toronto Area and Kingston.

Anyone with information on Scharfe’s location is asked to call the ROPE Squad at 1-866-870-ROPE (7673), Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or 9-1-1.
