Congratulations all around

There were plenty of smiling faces and well earned hugs and handshakes after 14 new recruits – 13 with two legs and one with four – were welcomed into the Durham police fold. Storm was introduced as a new member of DRPS’ K-9 squad. As for the remaining human recruits, they had successfully completed a two-week training course at the DRPS Police Education and Innovation Centre (PEIC), followed by another 13 weeks at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer. But they weren’t done just yet, taking in another four weeks of training back at the PEIC. The new officers will be posted across Durham Region, and will receive on-the-job training from more experienced officers over the next three months.
