In 2014, Oshawa hosted its first World Juniors pre-tournament game when Russia took on Finland at the then named GM Centre.

Oshawa residents will have the opportunity to see some of the world’s best junior hockey players, besides their own Oshawa Generals, when the Tribute Communities Centre plays host to a World Junior Championships pre-competition game on Dec. 21.

Fans will have the chance to watch the United States take on Switzerland inside the TCC, marking the second time Oshawa has been host for a pre-tournament game, the first coming in 2014 when Finland took on Russia.

Part of the Road to the World Juniors, a series of 10 games in eight cities across Ontario and Quebec, organized by Hockey Canada and RBC, the pre-competition tour is ahead of the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship in Montreal and Toronto.

Tickets for the USA vs. Switzerland matchup are now on sale or available at the TCC box office.
