City lifts fire ban

Some much needed rain and cooler weather may have done the trick – the Oshawa fire department has lifted its outdoor fire ban.

The ban on burn permits was initially put in place on Aug. 9.

Oshawa Fire Services would like to remind residents that even though the burn permit ban has been lifted, open air fires can only be set with a permit from the city. Those not complying with the law can be hit by fines.

Open air fire permits are available from Fire Station 1 at 199 Adelaide Ave. W. for owners with more than 10 acres of land.
