City collects $1,600 through Toys for Tickets

The City of Oshawa recently wrapped up its annual Toys for Tickets campaign with the collection of more than 100 toys, valued at approximately $1,600, exceeding the total issued ticket value of $1,325.

The toys will be distributed through the Durham Regional Police Service’s Food and Toy Drive.

Motorists who received a parking ticket from the City of Oshawa between Nov. 25 and Dec. 8 had the opportunity to pay the fine amount by donating new unwrapped toys in lieu of payment.

The City of Oshawa first introduced the program in 2006 and has since collected and donated more than $27,000 worth of toys for children and youth in need.
