Charges filed in bloody assault

Police have now filed charges after an Oshawa male was found beaten and bloodied near a set of train tracks.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, a man was found unconscious and covered in blood by two citizens along a path near the train tracks in the area of Centre and Avenue streets. After being located by emergency personnel, the man was taken to Lakeridge Health before being taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police say the victim continues to recover in hospital.

A 25-year-old male of Park Road South has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of probation in connection with this incident.

Police add the suspect faces charges in connection with other investigations.
