Changes to on-street parking

With snow on its way, the city is reminding residents of changes to on-street parking.

As of Dec. 1, on-street parking is not permitted on city streets between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., with vehicles being ticketed and/or towed regardless of the weather.

As well, vehicles parked on the street while it is being salted or having snow cleared may be ticketed and/or towed.

Vehicles with occasional use parking permits from the city are exempt from the general three-hour regulations only, but can still be ticketed and/or towed while the streets are being salted or being cleared of snow.

In addition to parking changes, property owners are reminded that they are required to completely remove snow and ice from sidewalks adjacent to their property by midnight of the first day after precipitation has ended. If the sidewalk is not completely clear of snow and ice, the property owner may be fined and invoiced for snow clearing charges.

These rules, regardless of weather, will remain in effect until April 1.
