Another teachers union has reached a tentative deal with the province.
The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association, which represents 50,000 elementary and secondary Catholic school teachers across the province, announced it has reached a tentative agreement with the province after having been in a strike position for the past week.
“We appreciate the government’s efforts and those of the Catholic school trustees in reaching this tentative agreement,” states Ann Hawkins, the union’s president, in a news release. “We worked hard to address the concerns of our members and believe this agreement will protect them as well as the quality of education in our schools.”
The details of the new deal are confidential, and still need to be ratified by the union’s members.
