Cabbie stabbed, assaulted at Go Station

An Oshawa man was arrested and charged following a street-level robbery at the Oshawa GO Station.

On Sept. 30, just after midnight, a male suspect attempted to enter a taxi and argued with the driver as he refused to pay for the rate. The suspect then took the driver’s bag and walked away.

The driver attempted to get his bag back and a physical altercation ensued, causing the elderly taxi driver to fall.

The victim was able to locate the suspect who fled on foot and called police. Uniform officers, with the assistance of the DRPS police helicopter, were able to arrest the man and recover the stolen property.

The man, 21, is charged with robbery. He was released on a promise to appear.
