Swimmer rejoice – the waters at Oshawa’s beaches are once again safe to swim in.
According to the latest tests done by the regional health department, the waters at the beaches at Lakeview East and Lakeview West have E. coli levels below the warning line.
In Durham Region, beaches are posted – marked as unsafe to swim in – if tests find 100 E. coli or more per 100 mL of water.
In fact, in a reversal of last week when most beaches were posted, most of Durham’s beaches are now open, with the exception of Beaverton Beach South in Brock, Bowmanville Beach East in Clarington and Elgin Pond in Uxbridge.
