Durham Police have arrested a 35-year-old Scarborough man in connection to a robbery on the Oshawa Creek bike path earlier this fall.
In late September, a 74-year-man was on the trail when he was robbed of his jewelry.
According to police, on Sunday, Nov. 10 at around 8 a.m., officers began to pursue a stolen car on King Street East in Oshawa.
After being stopped, the driver allegedly fled on foot, but was arrested after a short pursuit.
Police say further investigation revealed he was the suspect in the bike path robbery.
The resident of Brumwell Street in Scarborough faces charges of robbery, possession of stolen property, and aggravated assault.
He was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime in connection to the stolen vehicle. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
