Beat the heat this summer

Beat the heat this summer with a swim at Lakeview Park Beach and Camp Samac.

Lakeview Park Beach and Camp Samac pool will be reopening on Monday, June 21.

Lifeguards will be staffed daily at Lakeview Park Beach between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. (weather permitting). Hours may be extended to dusk during an extreme heat alert.

The city says the safety and health of community members and staff is a top priority and are asking residents to self-assess for COVID-19 symptoms before heading to the beach.

The washroom located at the beach remains closed, however, a limited number of portable washroom units, including accessible units, are available for use.

Volleyball courts will not be available for use at this time.

At Camp Samac pool, lane and public swims are being offered at a reduced capacity following public health guidelines to allow for physical distancing.

Facility cleaning and sanitization is scheduled between each lane and public swim.

Residents are required to book their swim in advance at register.oshawa.ca. Online bookings will be available 24 hours in advance, and Oshawa residents will have three-day advance booking privileges by phone by calling 905-436-3311.

Lane and public swim times are available on a pay-as-you-go basis only at this time. Cancellations of swim bookings require at least 24 hours’ notice. If less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, fees paid are non-refundable.

Visitors will be asked to respond to screening questions and provide contact information when they arrive. Residents can also complete their screening online in advance at www.oshawa.ca/screening.
