Diana Meldrum, branch manager at the Courtice location of Meridian Credit Union says supporting Autofest is a “win-win situation.”

This is the fourth year Meridian has sponsored the popular summer event, hosted by the Motor City Car Club.

Autofest, which takes place Aug. 25 and 26, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this summer.

“We are committed to our community. Autofest is a well-known Durham event. And we have branches in not just Courtice, but Whitby and Pickering,” Meldrum says.

Over the past quarter century, more than $250,000 in proceeds from Autofest has been donated to Grandview Children’s Centre, an organization Meridian supports as well.

“We visited there earlier this year.  We were given a tour and were able to visit a classroom to meet the children,” Meldrum notes.

Meridian serves as the sponsor of Autofest’s trophy and prize stage, where the show’s best of the best are recognized.

They will also have a tent and table, and will be handing out Meridian-branded water bottles.
