After numerous attempts to locate him have failed, an arrest warrant has now been issued for a 22-year-old Oshawa man.
On Monday, April 22, members of East Division responded to the area of Rundle Road in Clarington after reports of nine vehicle break-ins and thefts in the area.
It is alleged that the suspect, Jeffrey Avery, was responsible for the vehicle break-ins and also for stealing a black Honda Accord from a residence in Clarington, which was later recovered.
Investigators do not believe there is a threat to community safety, but want Avery to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.
It is an offence for any friend or acquaintance to aid and abet him while he is wanted by police.
Avery is wanted for 20 criminal charges, including: possession of stolen property under $5,000; theft from motor vehicle; fraud under $5,000; use of stolen credit card; unauthorized use of credit card data and theft of motor vehicle.
Anyone with new information about his location is asked to contact Det. Sitaram of the East Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 1606.
