A safe, fun way to celebrate Halloween

Kids across the area are invited to wear their costumes and join in some Halloween fun at the Kids’ Safety Village of Durham Region.

The 2017 Halloween Haunt, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 between 5 and 8 pm at the Village, will offer treats for everyone, plus a host of things to see and do.

There will be a haunted house, witches brew, a torture chamber, the ghostly graveyard, Halloween safety, trick or treat stations, a pirate ship, a wedding in the church, a colouring room inside the Village classroom, and lots of children’s activities.
The event is free, but organizers are asking families to make a $5 donation to the Kids’ Safety Village major expansion of the classroom to incorporate fire safety so that both key elements, police and fire, will be housed in one facility. The expansion will also allow more school aged children to attend safety lessons in this rapidly expanding region.

Organizers are asking everyone to register in advance so that there will be enough treats. This can be done online at http://ksv16.eventbrite.ca/

This event is presented by the Rotary Club of Oshawa-Parkwood, Ajax Optimist Club and the Whitby Lions Club to offer a safe and fun way for young people to enjoy the Halloween experience with their families.

The Kids’ Safety Village of Durham Region is located at 1129 Athol Street in Whitby.
