Yard waste collection is now underway
For those with autumn leaves cluttering the front lawn – the city’s yard waste collection is underway.
Yard waste is collected every other week on the same day as garbage collection and includes leaves, brush/twigs, pumpkins, corn stalks, weeds, and garden plants. The city is asking residents to use Kraft paper bags or clearly labelled open containers.
Brush and twigs are to be secured in bundles no more than four feet (1.2 metres) in length and no heavier than 44 pounds (20 kilos). Branches must not exceed four inches (10 centimetres) in diameter.
Yard waste collection ends the week of Nov. 23 for those in Area 1, and the week of Nov. 30 for those in Area 2.
