Police are seeking to identify two suspects after a woman had her wallet stolen in an Oshawa grocery store.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, a woman was shopping for groceries at the No Frills grocery store on King Street East when she was approached by a man who asked her questions about food items. It was after this encounter that she discovered that her wallet, which had been sitting in her open purse in her shopping cart, was missing.

Police say the debit and credit cards stolen from the wallet were used at four locations in Courtice, resulting in $700 in charges.

The first suspect is described as male, white, between 35 and 40 years old with a medium to heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey scarf and a blue ball cap.

The second suspect is described as male, white, between 35 and 40 years old with a medium build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and black Adidas running shoes.

Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to call Det. Const. Grigoriou at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 2737.

Police would like to remind residents to keep their valuables secure while shopping, and to be wary if a stranger approaches them and engages in conversation.
