Two Oshawa residents arrested after break-in in Port Hope

Two Oshawa residents are facing charges after a break-in at a home in Port Hope.

On Thursday, Jan. 14, two people were caught inside a home by the owner, who police say is the mother of the female suspect. Police say the two were trying to access a safe that contained prescription medication. The two fled the area.

Port Hope police traced the two back to a motel in Oshawa and, with the assistance of Durham police, arrested them.

The two, a 24-year-old female and a 35-year-old male, have both been charged with theft and unlawfully being in a dwelling by Port Hope police, and possession of stolen property by Durham police.
