Traffic stop leads to seizure of gun and drugs
Police have arrested a man and woman for drugs after a traffic stop which then led to the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun.
On May 15 around 5 p.m., Durham police stopped a white Nissan Rogue near Bloor Street West and Stevenson Road South in Oshawa.
Drugs, drug paraphernalia and open liquor was observed in the vehicle. During the investigation, police located a sawed-off shotgun, pellet gun, ammunition, and a small amount of drugs, which were seized from the vehicle.
A 41-year-old Oshawa man and 42-year-old woman face a combined 23 charges, including careless storage of a firearm, careless storage of ammunition, possession of a prohibited firearm, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine), possession of a Schedule II substance (morphine), and operating a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available.
They were both held for a bail hearing.
