Three females wanted after Canada Day assault

Durham Regional Police investigators are releasing the descriptions of the female suspects wanted in connection with the beating of a wheelchair-bound man on Canada Day.

The assault took place on July 1 at approximately 11 p.m. when the 50-year-old man was seated in his wheelchair on the bike path near Wentworth Street East. He was approached by two females, one of who struck him in the head causing serious injuries.

The first suspect is described as female, white, 5’4”, with a thin build and wearing an oversized, white t-shirt, baggy athletic shorts and a baseball cap.

The second suspect is female, white, with blonde hair.

Finally, the third suspect is described as female, white, 5’4”, with a thin build, blonde hair, and wearing a blue tank top and denim shorts. Police say this suspect was pulling a red wagon with a young child in it.

The three suspects were all walking on the bike path between Lake Ontario and Wentworth Street East in Oshawa and following the assault, they continued northbound on the path.
