Teen stabbed in altercation
A 16-year-old male is recovering after being stabbed several times during a verbal altercation in downtown Oshawa.
On Saturday, April 4, 2020, at approximately 6 p.m., Durham police responded to the area of Memorial Park on Simcoe Street in Oshawa for a stabbing. The suspect was involved in a verbal altercation with the male teen when it resulted in the teen being stabbed several times.
The teen was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center and was treated at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, a 45-year-old Oshawa man, remained on scene and was taken into police custody. He has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of dangerous weapons, and assault with a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing.
