Star defender traded

Gens Stephen Desrocher

The Oshawa Generals have traded Stephen Desrocher to the Kingston Frontenacs.

Gens d-man Stephen Desrocher is packing his bags for Kingston.

The team announced that the defender was traded to the Kingston on Tuesday. In return, Oshawa will be receiving a bounty of draft picks – the third- and fifth-round picks in 2016, the second-round picks in 2017 and 2018, along with conditional draft picks.

“Stephen was a highly sought after player,” states Roger Hunt, the team’s vice president and general manager, in a news release. “He will be missed by the organization and his teammates, we wish him nothing but the best moving forward as we look to the future.”

Desrocher was originally drafted by the Gens in the 2012 OHL priority draft. So far this season, Desrocher has collected five goals and six assists in 17 games. The next game for the defender’s new team is on Friday, Nov. 6 against the North Bay Battalion.
