Stabbing at Bloor Street East apartments

An Oshawa man is facing several assault and weapons charges after another man was stabbed.

At approximately 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, officers responded to a call at an apartment building on Bloor Street East, where they found a 24-year-old male with life-threatening injuries to his abdomen.

While paramedics tending to the victim, officers followed a trail of blood to a lower-level apartment unit, where they found their suspect and arrested him. A knife and a pair of scissors were seized at the time.

The victim was taken to hospital for emergency surgery, and remains in stable condition as of press time.

A 24-year-old male of Bloor Street East has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident.
