SIU probe comes after man hurt in collision
Incident led to impaired driving charge from DRPS
The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been called after a man was injured in a collision while fleeing from police in Oshawa.
According to the DRPS, on July 4, at approximately 1:05 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle in the area of Dundas Street and Thornton Road in Oshawa. While the officer was in the proximity of the vehicle, a 26-year-old Oshawa male was injured as a result of a collision. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The resident of Amber Avenue in Oshawa is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, and street racing. He was held for a bail hearing.
