Running for the cure

Being physically apart didn’t stop some residents from coming together. The Durham CIBC Run for the Cure Committee welcomed 593 in person and virtual participants in Durham Region who helped them raise $159,091 for the 2020 reimagined Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. $8.5 million was raised for the Canadian Cancer Society from coast-to-coast. The money will be invested in breast cancer research, support services, and trusted cancer information and advocacy. Donations are still being accepted until Dec. 31 at cibcrunforthecure.com.
