Road work being done on Olive Avenue
Olive Avenue is getting a makeover.
The Region of Durham will be doing road rehabilitation on Olive Avenue from Grandview Street to Townline Road in Oshawa.
Lane restrictions will be in effect and ongoing until May 15, however, unfavourable weather conditions may affect the schedule, according to a Durham Region press release.
The region is asking drivers to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews in the area.

Lane restrictions on Thornton Road in Oshawa
Lane restrictions will be in effect in Oshawa for road construction.
The Region of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Stellar Drive, Champlain Avenue and Thornton Road south in Whitby and Oshawa.
The project will be separated into three stages: Stellar Drive boulevard and restoration work will be ongoing, Champlain Avenue road reconstruction is set to begin to week of May 4, and Thornton Road South reconstruction is expected to begin in August.
Lane restrictions will be required through each stage of construction.
Work is expected to be completed by late October 2020, according to a Durham Region press release, adding unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Adelaide Avenue East to be closed for watermain work
Durham Region is advising residents that Adelaide Avenue East will be closed through the summer for road work.
Adelaide Avenue East will be closed to through traffic from Ritson Road North to Wilson Road North to safely install a new watermain, according to a Durham Region press release.
The road closure will be in effect from May 11 until Oct. 1, 2020.
