Pot stores being handcuffed

Dear Editor,

The provincial government should not be in the “weed” business if their sole purpose is to reap the 13 per cent HST tax, whilst at the same time handcuffing the 25 “lottery-winning” retailers in the province by forcing them to erect boutique/spa-style shoe-box stores where the consumer cannot see the product that they are purchasing.

What the “hay?”, or do I mean “herb?”

Not even photo journals at store level of the products carried?

In American jurisdiction where pot and edible sales are legal, the retailers happily display their greenery and edibles to the visual and nasal senses of the buyers.

This is the mature way of respecting the consumers, but here in Canuck-land, it seems like the tobacco model where “out of sight is out of mind.”

“The ‘outta sight’ herbs and edibles being so hidden, just tells me that the government is out of their mind with their ‘kiddie school’ tax grab model of cannabis retailing.

Our new cannabis retail outlet, Oshawa at least has long daily hours and high quality potency to their products.

Mr. Ford, give them some more ‘rope’ to retail freely to their customer base! Please!
