Oshawa player invited to Junior All-American Games

Tristan DesLauriers of the 16U Oshawa Legionaires has been invited to attend the 2018-19 Junior All-American Games.

The invitation could see DesLauriers attend as many as three high profile showcase events at major league spring training complexes.
“I am honoured to be given this opportunity to play with such elite athletes. My dream is to play high level baseball and this is a great chance for me to experience that,” says the 15-year-old DesLauriers.
DesLauriers received his invite to the Junior All-American Games with a tremendous performance this past August at the All Prospect Wood Bat Championship held at the University of Michigan.

DesLauriers hit .750 (six-for-eight), with two walks, and five RBI that weekend.
“Tristan had a strong finish to last season. playing up an age group made him work harder and you could see the improvements and confidence building as the season went on. He has a tremendous work ethic and it will take him a long way,” says 16U head coach Daryl Macklem.
DesLauriers will participate in the first event between Nov. 23 and Nov. 25 at the spring training home of the Baltimore Orioles. The remaining two events will take place in the new year.

The events are run by Gameday USA, a sports organization which also hosts the All-American Games.
