Oshawa man killed in car crash in Scugog Township
An Oshawa male has died following a head-on collision in Scugog.
Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Simcoe Street, north of Harper Road in Scugog Township, at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Monday, July 11.
According to police, the collision involved a beige Dodge Caravan and a blue Peterbilt transport truck pulling a loaded trailer.
Police say that the Dodge, heading south on Simcoe, veered into the northbound lane and hit the transport truck. From there, the van went into the ditch on the west side of the road while the truck went into the east ditch.
The driver of the van, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has been identified as Brian Richardson, 66, of Oshawa.
The truck’s driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police are looking for anyone who was on that road around the time of the accident to contact them.
