Night for youth counselling services

Pinewood, Lakeridge Health’s addictions program, will be hosting information nights this week for youth and family interested in learning more about available services.

Designed for those ages 12 through 24, Pinewood offers free and confidential counseling services for substance use, concurrent disorders and gaming/gambling issues.

“Our information evening was created to provide information and debunk myths and stigma associated with coming for counselling,” states Angie Kirby, a clinical coordinator, in a news release. “At Pinewood, our team works with youth to create a personalized program to support them with substance use, concurrent mental health and gaming and/or gambling concerns.”

The Oshawa event will take place Thursday, Sept. 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 419 King St. W, Suite 125. Those looking for information on that session can call 905-571-3344.

There will also be events that same evening in Ajax, Bowmanville and Port Perry.
