Effective in November, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology will have a new dean of health sciences.

Dr. Lori Livingstone, currently a director on the board of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and chair of NorWest Community Health Centres, will take over the role in approximately three months’ time.

“I am very much looking forward to working with faculty, staff, students, collaborative community partners, and alumni in my new role as the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology,” Livingstone states in a news release making the announcement of her new position.

Livingstone has a PhD in educational psychology from the University of Alberta in Calgary, a master of science in biomechanics, a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of physical health education from Queen’s University in Kingston.

“Lori’s experience as an administrator and researcher, coupled with her training as physical educator, biomechanist and statistician, make her the ideal leader of the Faculty of Health Sciences,” states Dr. Deborah Saucier, the provost and vice-president of academics at the university, in the same news release. “We look forward to Lori joining us this fall.”
