Marijuana dispensary raided for a third time

An Oshawa dispensary selling medical cannabis has once again been raided by Durham police.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, members of Durham police’s Drug Enforcement Unit raided and searched the 420 Compassion Club on Simcoe Street South. As a result of the raids, 586 grams of marijuana, six grams of hash and $656 in cash was seized. Police estimate the value of the seized drugs at $6,000.

This is the third time the 420 Compassion Club has been raided since September. In the first raid on Sept. 16, the location was among several dispensaries in Durham Region searched by police, although it was the only one to reopen afterwards.

Police raided it again on Sept. 23, and again it reopened shortly after.

A 24-year-old male of Glaspell Crescent in Oshawa has been charged with possession of a schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000 in connection with this incident.
