Man knocked out in violent convenience store robbery

Police are searching for four suspects after a convenience store employee was knocked unconscious during a robbery over the weekend.

At approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, police responded to the Mac’s Milk on Bloor Street East for a robbery. According to police, four male suspects entered the store and assaulted the lone employee, knocking him to the ground and kicking him. The victim was stomped until he was knocked out.

Police say cash, cigarettes and lottery tickets were taken before the suspects fled the store.

Durham police’s K-9 unit searched the area, but was unable to find the suspects.

The victim was taken to hospital for serious injuries to his head and face.

Two of the suspects are described as white males who had their faces covered. The other two had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing.
