Man injured after hitting bus
An Oshawa man is facing charges after a school bus was hit by a car in Whitby.
Police were called to Rossland Road shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12 for a collision involving a school bus and a car. According to police, the bus was headed west in the curbside lane on Rossland near Brock Road when it was hit by a silver Nissan. The Nissan had been travelling east, but attempted to turn north into an apartment complex, where it drove into the path of the oncoming bus.
Three of the bus’ passengers were taken to hospital as a precaution and later released.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries.
A 28-year-old male from Oshawa has been charged with careless driving in connection with this incident.
