Man in critical condition after being struck by truck

An Oshawa man was left in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while he was crossing a street.

At around 4:15 p.m. on July 18, the 35-year-old man was crossing Simcoe Street when he was struck by a Dodge Ram Truck turning left from John Street.

The 33-year-old driver of the truck stopped, remained at the scene and called 911.

The pedestrian was rushed by ambulance to Lakeridge Health Oshawa with life-threatening injuries, and later transferred by air ambulance to a Toronto trauma centre. He remains in critical condition.
