Man fights off robbers

On Nov. 3 a man fought off a pair of would-be robbers after they tackled him to the ground and tried to take his wallet.

The victim was walking through a park after stepping off the bus in area of John Street and Centre Street South when he was struck from behind.

The two male suspects dragged him to the ground as they tried to steal his wallet.

However, the victim fended them off and was able to keep his wallet before the two suspects fled. He was later treated for minor injuries in hospital.

A K-9 unit searched the area but was able to locate the suspects.

The first suspect is described as male and wearing a dark jacket with a hood. The second suspect, also male, was wearing a cycling-style jacket with reflective pieces.
