Man caught filming in change room

An Oshawa male is facing several charges after a teenager discovered she was being filmed in a clothing store change room.

At approximately 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, police were calling to a clothing store at the Pickering Town Centre. According to police, a 14-year-old girl was in a change room when she spotted a cellphone being pointed up at her from the adjacent room. She yelled and got the attention of store staff, who confronted a male suspect. Police say the suspect fled the store, but was followed by a witness who was able to provide a licence plate to police.

An officer spotted the vehicle on Harmony Road South in Oshawa and arrested the driver.

A 35-year-old male of Park Ridge Drive has been charged with making child pornography, voyeurism and failure to comply with a probation order.
