Man arrested after threatening to kill family

An Oshawa man is facing several charges after threatening to kill members of his family.

At approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, police responded to an apartment on Wentworth Street West for a disturbance. When officers arrived, they heard a male voice inside threatening to kill someone. Once inside the apartment, police located a male in a bedroom who was threatening to kill members of his family.

According to police, the man was in an agitated state and did not comply with the officers’ attempts to arrest him, resulting in him being pepper sprayed.

Police say the man’s violent behaviour continued while he was being checked out by paramedics.

A 28-year-old male of Oshawa has been charged with uttering threats, mischief under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.
