Man arrested after teen lured online
An Oshawa man is facing several charges after police say he lured and sexually assaulted a teenaged girl he met online.
According to police, a 15-year-old female was contacted via Facebook this past May by a male claiming to be 20 years old. The two developed a relationship online, with the suspect later convincing the victim to send him compromising photos of herself. In October, the two met in person. Police say this meet-up resulted in the teen being sexually assaulted in the man’s apartment.
Investigators have identified another female victim who had sent compromising photos online, and want to ensure there are no others. The suspect used the following names online: Ender, Jack Paine, Rayne Meister and MrEnder1337. Online, the suspect has claimed to be as young as 17-years-old.
A 25-year-old male of Frontenac Avenue in Oshawa is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, luring and possession of child pornography in connection with this case.
Anyone with new information regarding this case is asked to call the Durham Police Integrated Child Exploitation Unit at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 5350.
