Lords sweep preseason weekend in New York
The Durham College men’s soccer team continues to roll through the preseason as they return to Ontario with a pair of victories against U.S. colleges.
Durham opened their weekend with a 3-0 win over the Monroe Tribunes on Aug. 20 in Rochester. Bruce Cullen tallied twice, alongside Sasa Vukoje’s goal, to lead the Lords’ offence. Earning the clean sheet in goal were Mark Kamstra and Trevor Stephens.
On Sunday, the Lords earned a 2-1 win over the Genesee Cougars in Batavia, N.Y. Kamstra and Stephens each split time in goal again, while Vukoje and Conor Lowe scored for Durham.
The club’s OCAA regular season opens Sept. 10 in Kingston at St. Lawrence before traveling to Ottawa the following day to take on the Algonquin Thunder.
