K-9 team tracks man down after accident
Brock, a police dog, is being credited with helping find a man police say fled the scene of an accident over the weekend.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, a black pick-up truck collided with a blue sedan at the intersection of King Street and Ritson Road. The driver of the truck fled the scene.
An officer from the K-9 unit that attended the scene was able to locate the suspect hiding in a nearby backyard.
The driver of the blue sedan was taken to hospital after suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
A 44-year-old male of Clarke Street in Oshawa has been charged with one count each of failure to remain at an accident causing bodily harm, impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, driving while under suspension, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available, as well as five counts of driving while disqualified.
