Incinerator poisoning us slowly

Dear Editor.

I did not, and would never, vote for Roger Anderson, but he assures us his first concern is our well-being and not Covanta’s. And he stresses that Covanta’s emissions are the “best in the world.” But the fact is it emits poison.

Hybrid cars have lower emissions than regular cars, but ya know what? If you leave them running in your garage with the door closed, they’ll make ya’ dead. Poison is poison.

Environmental decay, whether in a garage or Durham Region, is slow death. And Roger Anderson is Roger Anderson. I don’t like him, but I personally believe Covanta does. And just what exactly are our politicians hiding behind closed doors, and just who exactly is being best served with our tax dollars? And does Roger Anderson really give a damn what I think?
