Hydro costs getting too high
Dear Editor,
I am a Whitby resident and own a professional business in the Greater Toronto Area. Our staff varies from six to nine people. Comparing our hydro bills from 2006 to today, we found that the cost has more than doubled. That is a 100 per cent increase. This is one of the many skyrocketing costs of doing business in Ontario, unless you are a very large corporation and get breaks.
I greatly believe that the sale of Hydro One is one of the thoughtless decisions this government is making besides selling other public assets at discounted prices. The only, and appropriate, approach to saving hydro is to streamline the organization once and for all and run a lean and transparent hydro generation company. We have to work harder and more hours to stay competitive and cover basic expenses.
