Holiday bus hits the road
Durham Region Transit has unveiled a new holiday-themed bus that will be seen throughout communities for the rest of 2019.
The bus will appear at Santa Claus parades across Durham, and was present at the event held in Oshawa.
It will also support Durham Regional Police Service’s 2019 Festive R.I.D.E. and Food and Toy Drive campaigns, which both kicked off recently.
Featuring a full-body festive decal, DRT officials say the bus’ artwork “captures the diverse landscape of the Region of Durham, both the urban development cityscape in lakeshore municipalities, as well as the agricultural geography of our northern and rural municipalities.”
Residents are encouraged to bring toys and non-perishable food items to stuff the holiday bus at Real Canadian Superstore located at Harmony Road and Taunton Road on Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
