Despite a drop in sales last month for General Motors of Canada, the Oshawa-built Buick Regal saw its sales go up 300 per cent.

General Motors of Canada saw its sales fall last month compared to the same time last year.

In August, the automaker delivered 22,547 vehicles – down from the 24,653 it delivered in August 2015.

“While August was a slower vehicle sales month across Canada, we demonstrated industry leadership and remain focused on product excellence and our strong retail strategy across our brands,” states John Roth, GM Canada’s vice-president of sales, service and marketing, in a news release.

Although sales were down last month, one Oshawa-built model, the Buick Regal, saw a healthy increase, with sales going up 300 per cent, according to the news release.
