Get safety tips and coffee with Oshawa firefighters

City residents can join Oshawa Fire staff for coffee and conversation when Coffee with Fire Crews returns to a local McDonald’s restaurant this year.

Members of the Oshawa Fire Services team will be at an Oshawa McDonald’s between 10:00 a.m. and noon on the following dates to discuss fire safety with the community:

– Friday, April 5 – 1300 King Street East

– Friday, June 21 – 1369 Harmony Road North

– Friday, Aug. 16 – 1300 King St. East

Residents can learn about smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, home escape plans and more – all while getting to know local firefighters and fire prevention staff.

“Educating yourself and your family about safety measures, personal at-home escape routes, and having working smoke detectors are the three best ways to protect your family from a fire incident. Our highly trained, professional firefighters are happy to take the time with each citizen to answer any of their questions with a common goal of increased community safety,” says Ward 4 regional councillor Rick Kerr, chair of the Community Services Committee
