Eric Wellwood started his OHL career with the Windsor Spitfires in 2006-07. Eric won the Memorial Cup with the Spitfires in both 2009 and 2010. In his final year with Windsor, Eric scored 68 points (31 goals, 37 assists) in 65 games.
After his OHL career Eric went on to playing the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League with the Adirondack Phantoms and Philadelphia Flyers respectively. In 31 games in the NHL Eric accumulated 5 goals, 5 assists and 10 points.
The Windsor native has been involved in high-level hockey for eight years gathering a lot of experience in the process. A career ending injury in the AHL playoffs pushed Eric into coaching. Last year, Eric helped the Oshawa Generals win the Memorial Cup.
